FEUDI DI TERRA D'OTRANTO

Feudi di terra d'Otranto produce wine in Puglia (Veglie) in the Salento area. The company is the result of a partnership between the del Balzo, Counts of Presenzano and Vignamaggio snc di Gianni Nunziante of Greve in Chianti. The del Balzo family has been present in the area for some centuries and owns an estate of approx 400 hectares. 350 hectares are olive groves and produce oil in the private mill; it has also contributed part of the fields and local tradition, while Vignamaggio, operating in the wine sector since 1400 and producer of excellent wines, has contributed with know-how and experience in the production of high quality wines.

2005 Le Maschere Primitivo IGT

Winemaking, Vineyards & Growing Season:
Typically clayey and limestone, rich in potassium soil. Direction of vines are North-South. One-sided 'cordone speronato' which forms an inverted L. Harvest in September. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (Under 25°C). Malolactic fermentation is achieved in total. 10 months aging in stainless steel tanks + 3 months in glass. Ready for consumption: 12/18 months from harvest.


 

2006 Le Maschere Aglianico IGT

Winemaking, Vineyards & Growing Season:
Typically clayey and limestone, rich in potassium soil. Direction of vines are North-South. One-sided 'cordone speronato' which forms an inverted L. Harvest in September. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (Under 25°C). Malolactic fermentation is achieved in total. 10 months aging in stainless steel tanks + 3 months in glass. Ready for consumption: 12/18 months from harvest.
