L'agriviticola Gianni Voerzio is a Piedmont Vine-grower realty in the heart of the "Langhe Albesi" and precisely in La Morra, one of the most beautiful belvedere of the Barolo zone. Here the vineyards are protected from alpine winds. Gianni Voerzio personally manages the company with the help of his wife Franca since 1986.

2004 Barbera d'Alba - Ciabot della Luna DOC

Winemaking, Vineyards & Growing Season:
The extension of his vineyards all situated in a hillside zone, is of 13.5 hectares. The vineyards are located in best sunny zone and the soil is rich in minerals. The vineyards are cultivated with great care, with reduced lopping and a thin out of the grapes. The vineyard Ciabot della Luna are optimal for the production of Barbera d'Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo. The ideal time for the harvest is chosen by periodic analytic control of the grapes. In the vineyards the picked grapes are placed in small containers to avoid the risk of damaging them. The wine is fined 225 and 500 litre oak barrels according to the kind wine fining wanted.


Wine Spectator Score: 88.  "Plum, blackberry and lightly toasted oak. Full-bodied, with lots of fruit, spice and light raisin. Prune and berry aftertaste. Drink now. 700 cases made." - JS

Wine Spectator Score: 90.  "Aromas of blackberries, cherries and chocolate follow through to a fullbodied palate, with round tannins and a delicious finish. This is reserved and refined. Best after 2007. 725 cases made." - JS

Wine Advocate Score: 88.  "chocolate, spice, and toasted oak flavors on its alcoholic nose. This rich Barolo is concentrated on the palate, with dense dark fruit, macerated cherry and mineral notes that are somewhat overwhelmed by the heavy use of barrique. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015." - AG
